With the Indianapolis Indians trailing the Bengals 3-2, the Colts’ quarterback, Peyton Manning, decided to throw the ball downfield for a touchdown.
It took some time, but the ball got to Peyton.
As Colts kicker Justin Tucker put it, the game should be remembered for Manning’s epic interception, the one that ended his Colts’ chances of advancing to the AFC Championship game.
As it turned out, the interception didn’t happen as Manning intended, as Indianapolis defensive lineman Anthony Chickillo came down with the ball and tackled Manning.
Colts cornerback Donte Moncrief took Manning out of the game with a concussion.
The Bengals lost in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday.
Indianapolis lost its first game of the season, the final game of a five-game losing streak.
The Colts’ season ended Monday, a victory that was a fitting farewell to Manning.
